Special Issue "Journal of Environmental Economics and Management"

A special issue of the external pageJournal of Environmental Economics and Management with the title"Economic Dynamics and Environmental Policy" will be devoted to the SURED 2022 conference in Ascona, Switzerland. The issue will be edited by Katheline Schubert (Paris School of Economics), Karen Pittel (LMU Munich and ifo Institute), and Alexandra Brausmann (University of Vienna).

Over the long run, economic dynamics have a first-order impact on the costs and benefits of environmental and resource policies. To achieve efficient and sustainable outcomes, it is important to thoroughly understand how environmental policies and risks interact with societal change and economic dynamics through technological change, induced innovation, international trade, behavior, and other mechanisms. Non-linear feedbacks, tipping points, evolving expectations, and institutional change are crucial aspects of the process of improving environmental economic outcomes.

This special issue on Economic Dynamics and Environmental Policy aims to advance our knowledge on these issues. The special issue is open to papers presented at the SURED 2022 as well as other related papers that make a substantial, novel and meaningful contribution to dynamic aspects of environmental and resource economics. The normal quality standards of JEEM apply, and the usual refereeing process will be followed.

The deadline for submission is September 1, 2022. The targeted completion date of the special issue is Winter 2023/Spring 2024.
