EAERE 2016
The 22nd Annual Conference of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE) was hosted by ETH Zurich on 22-25 June 2016. The successful conference attracted about 700 participants from all over the world. The Chair of Economics/Resource Economics of D-MTEC was the local organizer.

The programme offered parallel sessions with 500 contributed papers, poster sessions, thematic sessions, no less than fourteen policy sessions, and three excellent keynote lectures. Award ceremonies and a variety of social events complemented the programme.

At the meeting of the EAERE Council and the General Assembly of Members the ETH proposal to launch a new series of EAERE-ETH European Winter School in Environmental and Resource Economics was approved. "Currently we see a huge demand of students for the EAERE Summer Schools and a high number of motivated colleagues to serve as faculty" says Prof. Lucas Bretschger Chair of Economics and Resource Economics at D-MTEC and President of EAERE. "Hence, the new format is an important initiative to extend the EAERE offer for junior researchers, relying on the well-functioning and moderately priced conference centre with accommodation in the beautiful surrounding of Monte Verità in Ascona", he continues.
The first edition is expected to take place in January 2018; there will be an open call for applications in 2017.
