The Swiss Net Zero Target

In September 2020, RESEC, EAWAG and WSL jointly organized a first workshop on the Swiss longterm emissions target. In November 2021 there was a second edtition. The goal of the workshops was to investigate how the goal of net zero carbon emissions by 2050 can be achieved in Switzerland with regards to economic, social and political aspects, as well as identifying possible research contributions, current research gaps and potential synergies or a joint research agenda. Participants came from different universities, research institutions and the government bringing in various perspectives and expertises of social sciences and policy-making.
