Conference Topic

The aim of the conference is to compile innovative current research from resource, energy and environmental economics and dynamic economic theory. By bringing together leading experts as well as junior and senior scholars in these fields, the conference covers a broad range of aspects regarding the relationship between natural resource use and long-term economic development.

The conference was the second of a series. The 2004 SURED conference was generally considered a great success. Participants came from all over Europe as well as from America and Asia. The conference papers reached the highest international standards and the presentations were very professional.

We welcome contributions from the fields of:

  • environmental economics
  • resource economics
  • energy economics
  • economic dynamics
  • growth theory.

Special emphasis will be given to contributions covering dynamic issues in relation to the natural environment. Special sessions are planned for the following topics:

  • transition from quantitative to qualitative growth
  • welfare, discounting and sustainable development
  • uncertainty and irreversibilities in resource use and dynamics
  • economic integration, growth and the environment
  • theoretical foundations of environmental policy.
