Conference Topic

The aim of the conference is once again to compile innovative current research from resource, energy and environmental economics and dynamic economic theory, and to bring together leading experts, senior scholars and young researchers in these fields. We believe that, when looking at the overall effects of environmental policies, an important aspect is to adopt a long-term perspective. We need to thoroughly understand how environmental policies, transition and climate risks, as well as societal changes trigger economic dynamics and how they relate to associated developments in technology, education, and international trade. Non-linear development, tipping points, induced innovation, and market expectations are crucial aspects of the decarbonization process. Economic dynamics have a first-order impact on the cost of environmental policy. What is more, policy should be designed to make use of dynamic processes lowering its cost.

The conference will be the tenth of a series. The SURED conferences in 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2020 were generally considered great successes. Participants came from all over Europe as well as from America and Asia. The conference papers reached the highest international standards and the presentations were very professional.

We welcome contributions from the fields of:

  • environmental economics
  • resource economics
  • energy economics
  • economic dynamics
  • growth theory.

Keynote and invited lectures are given by internationally distinguished researchers. There are special sessions for young economists.
